Who We Are
A. X. (Al) Soto
Al began his business experience as a young man in the family business - Soto Customs Services, Inc.
The company was started by his grandfather J.A. Soto Sr. in the 1950's.
Al's father, A.X. (Al) Soto Sr. subsequently took over the family business after his father's passing until his own passing in 1998.
After earning a BBA in International Business from St. Mary's University ('93) in San Antonio, TX, Al Jr. went to work for the family business until 1997 when he took a position with British Petroleum as a Key Account Manager for the North American Base Oil Trading and Marketing group in Houston, TX, eventually accepting the position of Manager - BP Marine Americas Base Oil Marketing group.
In 2007 Al retired from BP and began his consulting business focusing on transportation & international trade in energy.
In 2017 Al became a licensed Insurance Agent in the state of Texas and is very proud to be offering his clients a greater level of service now including insurance offered as an Independent Agent with Rio Grande Underwriters Insurance Group, Inc.
